Most people know that paper is made from trees. If you do not recycle paper, more trees need to be cut down. Trees simply cannot grow quickly enough to compensate for this loss. When we continue to consume without recycling we are damaging other natural resources and habitats of wild animals.

Conservation

When we recycle we are allowing used products to be recreated into a new products for consumption. The number of resources needed to create a brand new product, rather than a recycled one, use nonrenewable resources. Recycled products use less energy, less water, and create less toxic waste. By recycling, you are lowering the number of nonrenewable resources used. This protects the Earth for future generations.

Reduces Waste

Waste is created when we throw items away. When something gets thrown in the trash can, it is taken to the Landfill. When items can be recycled, materials are broken down and reused to make something new. This reduces the amount of waste going into landfills which in turn reduces the amount of methane, a greenhouse gas, that is released into the atmosphere.

Recycling should not be something you do every once in a while, it should be a way of life. If we want to protect and preserve the Earth for our children and their children we need to move towards more sustainable living. Recycling is the first step.
