Why Recycle?

At Okon Recycling Recycling, we are committed to maintaining and improve the Earth’s environmental stability. Part of moving towards environmental stability is recycling, that’s why we started our Community Recycling Center. We know recycling can be inconvenient, so why should you go out of your way? Here’s why: 

Conservation

By recycling we are allowing used products to be recreated into a new products for consumption. The number of resources used to create a brand new product, rather than a recycled one, consumes nonrenewable resources. Recycled products use less energy, less water, and create less toxic waste. By recycling, you are lowering the number of nonrenewable resources used which protects the Earth for future generations. 

Reduces Waste

When we throw something in the trash, it gets taken to the Landfill. When we recycle, materials are broken down and reused to make something new. This keeps less waste out of landfills which reduces the amount of methane, a greenhouse gas, that is released into the atmosphere.

Protects Resources and Wildlife

Paper is made from trees. Most people know this. If you do not recycle paper, more trees need to be cut down. Trees cannot grow quickly enough to compensate for this loss. Just recycling paper saves millions of trees. This also goes for other natural resources and wildlife. When we continue to consume without recycling we are damaging other natural resources and habitats of wild animals.

Recycling should not just be an every once in a while thing, recycling should be a way of life. If we want to protect and preserve Earth we need to move towards more sustainable living.
